About me

Devon moths (1)_edited_edited.jpg

Nature is one of life's most precious gifts. Deer amaze us with their gracefulness. Butterflies with their beauty. Birds with their flight. To watch a flock of ten thousand starlings dancing at sundown is to experience first-hand the wonder of life.

I'm Luke, and for as long as I can remember I've been obsessed with the natural world. I've got up before dawn to find wallabies and cassowaries in the middle of a rainforest, and stayed up late to find owls and deer in English woods. I've watched birds until I learnt how to identify every single species, carried out innumerable surveys, and made a homemade light trap to catch moths in my garden. Along the way I've wandered through remote forests at midnight, got loads of insect bites, and been accidentally locked in a vineyard in Mallorca...

Above all, I love telling people about the wild. I write articles and presentations, make videos, and volunteer as a nature guide. I have taken part in habitat restoration, rewilded my garden, and helped save my local nature reserve from a proposed bypass. But most of all I love sharing the joy of nature with others.

I'm on a mission to share that joy with the world.
